It's January 2nd...

Do you know where your fitness goals are???

Today, I logged 50 minutes on Wii Fit Plus...I didn't break any records and only burned 161 calories, but 161 calories is better than no calories.

And now...shower and bed. The kids are back to school tomorrow and I can't wait to get my house back!!!

Wishing you a healthy tomorrow!

Wellness Journey starts today...

...or not...especially if you forget to eat enough before heading out - UGH!!! I had to go to the mall to pick up a few things today and didn't eat enough before going. The result was feeling light headed and eating junk to prevent myself from passing out - quick sugar fix - I should know better.

Tomorrow I will plan better...of course, I won't be going to the mall either - LOL!

I do like the new high fibre cereal I found - Fibre 1 Honey Clusters. It has 13g of fibre PER SERVING!!! Nothing like getting more than 1/2 your daily required fibre in one bowl of cereal!

I also drank a lot more water today. I've been neglecting that lately and it felt really good to get back into that habit.

Wishing you all a healthy tomorrow!

Here we go again...

I don't know what keeps holding me back...the exercise feels good...I know that...eating well feels good...I know that...and yet after a few weeks...or a few months, it all seems to go downhill.

This time around, I've paid money...not to join a gym, but to follow along with Lisa Cohen of Big Picture Classes as she leads many of us on a "Wellness Journey". Class starts tomorrow.

My Caroline has asked me to join her on getting healthier and losing weight and there is a group of stampers online who will be following along as one of our fellow stamping buddies embarks on this weight loss journey. She's going to stamp her way to a healthier, happier her as she prepares to lose 111 lbs. in 2011. Quite the undertaking, but I'm sure that together we can all be better people!

Won't you join me in my "Journey to the Little Black Dress"? We'll keep each other motivated and on track! I suggest that if you'd like to keep track of what you're eating you join SparkPeople.com It's a free site with LOTS of amazing tools to help keep you on track.

Best Wishes to you all for a happy, healthy 2011!!!

What's your "magic number"?

You know the one...where you tell yourself, "As long as I don't weigh XXX, then it's OK". That one...the one when you go over it, you tell yourself, "Well, I'm only over by X pounds, so it's not bad".

Do you have one? I do. I hit it the other day and rather than telling myself that it was OK because I wasn't over it yet, I said, "ENOUGH!" I don't want to be tired anymore. I don't want to feel winded just because I spent half an hour chasing a ball around with my kids. I don't want to wake up with sore hips because I couldn't sleep in a proper position due to my weight. I don't want to come up on another birthday and be unhealthy.

I don't have any delusional thoughts about getting down to my "wedding weight" because that is just unrealistic. I've had three kids, let's not kid ourselves.

I do want to lose the weight I've put on and I want to be a healthier, happier me. There is heart disease and diabetes in the family and I most certainly do not want to be affected by that.

Wishing you a healthy tomorrow!

Not quite a year, but close enough...

As I was posting last year, it was a mere 2 days till my 40th birthday - which by the way doesn't freak me out nearly as much as it did last year...especially since I'm coming up on 41 in a couple of months.

Things have not gotten (is that even a word?) any better, but have become worse. I am now at my heaviest (not counting baby weight) and I am not a happy person. I'm not sleeping as well as I could and there are aching body parts that shouldn't be aching for at least another 20 years or so.

My wonderful hubby was kind enough to buy a Wii for Christmas and the following week we purchased a Wii Fit Plus board and game. I went like crazy for about a week or so and then stopped...picked it up again and then stopped. It's been at least a month. And, while I have been drinking my water (the only good thing I've been doing), I haven't done much else.

I've been eating the same (full of fat) snacks that the rest of the family eats on Family Movie Night, I've not been watching my portion sizes and I certainly have not been getting any kind of regular exercise. Over the weekend, we were at the IL's and I spent time walking around the block with my youngest DS as he rode the scooter. It's insane to think that I was getting winded doing just that. I am very much out of shape. The good news is that I did sleep well last night and I credit the (minimal) exercise.

Today, I began the tedious task of counting the number of WW points I eat and doing my best to limit my carb intake. So far so good. I'm not sure what the point allowance is for my new weight, but I'm going with what I was using before. Worst case scenario, I drop a little faster at the outset and that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Tonight, I'm going to eat some steamed chicken and spinach while the family enjoys Chicken Carbonara. Then, I'm going to hop on the Wii Fit and get some exercise in.

Wishing you a healthy tomorrow!

I have no excuse...

...other than the fact that I was more interested in seeing the new Stampin' UP! catalog than getting a workout in. That's it, that's my reason. I can't even blame it on the hair anymore (though I did skip washing again today to let the colour REALLY set)...it's all about Stampin' UP!

I would share what I saw in the new catty...but I can't. It's strictly off limits till July 1st, but oh my!!!

Anyway...Points tally for today:

Yogurt - 1 pt.
Tea with Milk - 1 pt.
Coffee with Cream and Sugar - 3 pts. (there are some things I absolutely refuse to give up!)
WW English Muffin, Reduced Fat Cheese, Egg - 6 pts. (this was lunch today for a change - LOL!)
Welch's Fruit Snacks - 2 pts
Made in Japan Teriyaki Meal - 10 pts. (CRAP! And I thought that was healthy!)
Tea with Milk - 1 pt.

Total - 24 pts - despite that whole Teriyaki thing - YIKES!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

No treadmill or weights today...

DS and his class are having a family "picnic", which basically means that everyone brings snacks and we play in the park for a couple of hours. It's not SUPER warm out there, so I'm not sure how it will go. There was a rain date, in case of inclement weather, but it's not raining, so I guess we're still on.

So far today:
WW English Muffin, Reduced Fat Cheese, Egg - 6 pts.
Tea with Milk - 1 pt.
Mini Carrot Muffins (evil little buggers!) - 6 pts.
Tomato and Cucumber Salad with 2 Tbsp. dressing - 2 pts.
Chocolate Chip Cookie - 3 pts.
Asparagus - 0 pts.
Bacon - 2 pts.
Ginger Cake (1/16th of 8" sq. pan) - 2 pts.
Tea with Milk - 1 pt.

Total - 23 pts - WOOHOO!!!

In other news, I had my hair hi-lited and cut today and it looks AMAZING!!! I will try and get a decent picture in decent light tomorrow to put up on here...

Thanks for peeking in today!
